CDL licensing in Kentucky is administered by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Fees, scheduling, forms, and the official Kentucky CDL manual live on the official site: Kentucky KYTC — official CDL page (verified 2026-08-09).
Truckcess is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. How the Kentucky CDL process works
- Study the official Kentucky CDL manual from the Kentucky KYTC — state exams draw from it.
- Pass the written knowledge tests to earn your Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP). You can take the CLP knowledge tests before completing ELDT.
- Complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) from a provider on the federal Training Provider Registry — required before your skills (driving) test. Truckcess provides the theory portion. (Exception: for the HazMat endorsement, ELDT theory is required before its knowledge test.)
- Pass the three-part skills test — vehicle inspection, basic control, and road driving.
The full prep course — every practice test, narrated lessons, the spoken pre-trip trainer — is one-time (Class A $69, Class B $59) with 12 months of access: mytruckcess.com/cdl.
